VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
California has experienced a meaningful shift towards prioritizing clean energy.
Solar energy is everywhere,
and the benefits of solar should be dispersed with equity.
Why should the family living in this home (single family home)
be able to get the full benefit of solar energy
and not the ones living in this multi-family community?
44% of California's population are renters
who should enjoy the same benefits of solar energy that wealthier homeowners do.
17 million renters deserve to enjoy the same benefit as homeowners.
The ideas proposed have consequences that could significantly add to our existing housing crisis.
Requiring low income renters to absorb the cost for wealthier Californians is not the way forward.
Ask your representative and Governor Newsom
to tell the California Public Utilities Commission to vote NO on the virtual net metering proposed decision.
It's not just about energy, it's about housing equality.
Californians deserve better.
